Zach's Mom

I [Lonnie] thought of our house when I read this quote from Theodore Roosevelt from 1905.

No piled-up wealth, no splendor of material growth, no brilliance of artistic development, will permanently avail any people unless its home life is healthy ...

No ordinary work done by a man is either as hard or as responsible as the work of a woman who is bringing up a family of small children; for upon her time and strength demands are made not only every hour of the day but often every hour of the night ...

The woman who is a good wife, a good mother, is entitled to our respect as is no one else.

Couldn't agree more.

I want some "L & M's"

Zach has been coming up with quite the expressions lately. His Aunt Marcia has him hooked on chocolate. Recently he discovered M&M's, but is still learning how to pronounce the name;)

Here's a little of what we've been up to lately:
****Building a snowman with Rebecca and her friend Eva****

***Learning how to play board games & card games. Zach loves to watch Papa Ron & all the guys play cards. *****

****Swimming. He's still a fish! Swim lessons start up again in a few weeks****

****Learning about the real meaning of Christmas. Zach even got to sing in his first Christmas program at church. He talks all the time now about wanting to sing on stage again. Every now and then he belts out Away in a Manger or Happy Birthday, his two favorite Christmas songs from the program. ****

****Learning to play the violin like Collin****

****Sledding, sledding and more sledding! This picture was taken the first time sledding this season. But now he is brave enough to go down on his own and even carry his sled back up himself!!!****

****Growing up way too fast, just like his cousins****
Happy Winter Everyone! Stay safe & warm!
